Weekend Work 5-8-13: A Few GIFts, a New Look, and Love From the (Not Kevin Smith) Askewniverse

As usual the staff of the American Hysterical Society has been busy scouring the crowded corners of bookstores and the internet to find new items for our collection of history and museum humor. This week we’ve been fortunate to find four new websites, including Pearls for Girls, The GIF Connoisseur, When You Work At a Nonprofit, and Registrar Humor. You can find all of them on our Links page.

Speaking of our Links page, our collection has grown so large that we finally had to reorganize it. All links are currently listed under one of four headings – History, Museums, Art, or Reenacting. As always please let us know of any website (or in fact any history or museum humor) that fits our collection (and you don’t already see here).

We wanted to thank the blog Museums Askew for including Peabody’s Lament on their blogroll. We have been avid readers for some time now (she’s unknowingly contributed to our collection numerous times), and you should be too!

About T.H. Gray

T.H. Gray is the self-appointed court jester and Dr. Demento for the history museum field. A lifelong museum professional and reenactor, he is a graduate of the prestigious Peale-Barnum Public History Museum Studies Program. Until 2011, when the AHS hired him away, he was on staff at the Benjamin Dover Memorial Museum & Swimming Pool ("Our History is All Wet!"). He remembers when museums were still about history, science, and art. BTW, all of these posts say they are by T.H. Gray because he can't turn off the byline. Credit, when due, is given.
