Famous For Everything But

The American Historical Association put together this Pinterest list of famous history majors in an attempt to make history majors look cool. However, they failed to mention that not a single person on their list is known for their historical work.

At least his history major was useful.

At least he put his degree to good use.

Which raises the question:

Can you think of a history major who is famous for doing history?

GUIDELINES:

The candidate must have earned a BA in history (for example Doris Kearns Goodwin, David McCullough, and Cokie Roberts are right out. Goodwin has a mysterious bachelor of arts degree and the latter two have journalism degrees).

Due to their historical work, they must be something of a household name (or at least other people than historians should have heard of them).

The candidate must have been or be famous during any time in American history.

GOOD LUCK!

T.H. Gray is the self-appointed court jester and Dr. Demento for the history museum field. A lifelong museum professional and reenactor, he is a graduate of the prestigious Peale-Barnum Public History Museum Studies Program.
