Weekend Work 1-14-13: (More!) Books & Music

While there are obvious joys in developing a collection (look what I have and you don’t!), it can require an optimistic patience (Yeah, yeah, patience – how long will that take?). Still, as we hunt through the dusty bins of the internet, we hope to find that one new piece we haven’t seen yet. It can be a humbling and frustrating process. Still, we persevere.

Sometimes the perseverance pays off. We here at the American Hysterical Society are pleased to announce that not only have we found one new piece for our collection, we found found seven; six new books and one song.

We added the following to our  General Surveys Library page:

The Dead Guy Interviews: Conversations with 45 of the Most Accomplished, Notorious, and Deceased Personalities in History

Historical Tweets: The Completely Unabridged and Ridiculously Brief History of the World

Half-Baked History

Mass Historia: 365 Days of Historical Facts and (Mostly) Fictions

We also added The Merry Wives of Henry VIII: A Tudor Spoof Collection and A Parody Outline Of History to our National Histories Library page.

Finally, we created the Tourism page on our Curator’s Cuts playlists for the Flight of the Conchords’ “Bus Driver Song.”

As always if you have suggestion for additions to our Curator’s Cuts or Library pages, please let us know.

He remembers when museums were still about history, science, and art. BTW, all of these posts say they are by T.H. Gray because he can't turn off the byline. Credit, when due, is given.
