Weekend Work 6-3-12: A Wealth Of Acquisitions

Our curator’s office. So he’s a little slow on the cataloging.

Our curator has been joyfully busy these last few weeks, what with acquiring, reviewing, and cataloging so many new items.

Our library has now grown by six new titles including:

F*ck: A Human Odyssey and Simple Custom (General Surveys).

1492 and All That: A Fool’s History of the USA (National Histories)

Draynefleete Revealed (State & Local History)

Homes of the Brave and Goodbye, Mr. Chippendale (Artifacts & Architecture)

We have also added links to the Museum  of Bad Art, Tacky Tourist Photos, and Future History Channel Shows to our blogroll.

And lastly, we added Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers’ “Me and Paul Revere” to our the American Revolution section of Curator’s Cuts I

As always we refrain from connoisseurship and simply offer the collection to you for you to make of it what you will (although we have not nice things to say about 1492 and All That). In doing so, we hope to make Nina Simon, the high priestess of museums, proud (although frankly we’d rather listen to Nina Simone).

About T.H. Gray

T.H. Gray is the self-appointed court jester and Dr. Demento for the history museum field. A lifelong museum professional and reenactor, he is a graduate of the prestigious Peale-Barnum Public History Museum Studies Program. Until 2011, when the AHS hired him away, he was on staff at the Benjamin Dover Memorial Museum & Swimming Pool ("Our History is All Wet!"). He remembers when museums were still about history, science, and art. BTW, all of these posts say they are by T.H. Gray because he can't turn off the byline. Credit, when due, is given.
